App Analytics Dashboards

We are rolling out upgraded analytics dashboards at the app level with enhanced features. The dashboards being rolled out include:

Some of the key improvements that our users will be able to see are the following:

  • Additional data points on charts for better data interpretation
  • Option to drill down on various attributes for charts
  • Relevant KPIs
  • Flexible time bucketing to see trends across varying time granularity
  • Filter enhancements

Time filter enhancements

Besides multiple time filters such as 30 days, 90 days, and time range, users now have the option to select the "Year to date" time filter which gives them all metrics from the start of the year (Jan) to the current date. This will help them to understand trends and patterns in adoption and other metrics as it applies to current year.

This applies across all dashboards and provides the flexibility to see metrics "Year to date" for customers who want to see Adoption for instance across months through the current year.

Note:

All time filters are applicable to the widgets globally. Widget level time filters are not longer available.

Filter enhancements

  • Multi-select functionality has now been enabled for all filters such as department/location, user category etc. to allow more flexible reporting.

  • Additional filter called as "User parameter" has been added to the filter panel.

This filter selection applies to table widgets where data is being shown aggregated at a location/department or user category level, for example:

  • Adoption leaders by "Department" (Adoption dashboard)
  • Mose searches performed by "Department/location etc." (search dashboard)
  • Most engaged/least engaged "Department/Location" (Social Interaction dashboard)

Relevant KPIs/Hero metrics at the top of the dashboards

KPI (Key Performance Indicator) widgets give you a quick snapshot of the most important performance measures. They make it easy to track progress at a glance and quickly identify whether performance is on track or requires attention.

Note:

KPI widgets are added to relevant dashboards. In this release we are adding KPI widgets to all dashboards except Monthly reports.

For example: Search dashboard

Every widget (such as KPI widgets) in the dashboard have a heading and a subheading that briefly explains the widget for easier understanding.

This applies across all dashboards showing data on a timeline and provides the flexibility to see data at a level of granularity of the users' choice

Any dashboard that has a chart showing data on a timeline, now offers the flexibility to select an appropriate time bucket to view the data.

For example in the chart shown below, the time filter selected is 90 days
By default the data will be shown at a granularity of days i.e; adoption rate on a daily basis.

However the user can now click on the downward arrow next to the X axis label i.e; "Reporting date" and chose the time granularity of his or her choice.

Drill down option on charts

This applies across all dashboards and works best on charts rather than tables. The option to drill down provides the flexibility to see data at a level of granularity of the users' choice

You can now interactively explore deeper layers of data within charts. By clicking on specific data points or categories, users can move from high-level summaries to more detailed breakdowns. This makes it easier to uncover the insights behind top-level metrics, identify underlying trends, and investigate data with greater precision.

To drill down on any data point:

  1. Right click on the Data point > Drill down > select the attribute to drill down on.

You can select any attribute to dig deeper to analyze any data point. For example: Drill down on department to understand the contribution of various departments on adoption rate on the week of 15th September.

The figure below shows the adoption chart drilled down on department on the week of 15th September.

  • Use the back button on the widget to go back to the previous chart.
  • Use the Download button on the widget to download the detailed data in a csv format.

Note:

The data downloaded as a CSV from the widget is in a standard format and does not change basis the drill down performed.

Additionally each widget is augmented with additional data points to make it easier to understand and interpret data.
