Newsletter managers now have more ready-made layout choices to create visually richer newsletters with less design effort. This update adds seven new stock layouts that make it easier to vary structure, highlight important content, and create newsletters that feel distinct from one another.
This update is designed for newsletter managers. It is available on AWS as GA.
The newsletter editor now includes seven additional pre-built structural layouts for common communication patterns such as spotlight content, alternating image-and-text sections, image collages, numbered lists, and mixed image and text blocks.
These new layouts help newsletter managers:
Create more visually engaging newsletters
Differentiate one newsletter from another
Support different storytelling patterns with ready-made structures
Reduce time spent manually arranging content
Maintain a polished look while still giving creators flexibility
Seven new layouts have been added to the newsletter editor. They are designed to support a range of communication needs, from featured announcements to image-led storytelling.
Layout | Best for | Typical structure |
|---|---|---|
Spotlight | Featuring one key story or announcement | Title, image, caption, body text, and button |
Alternate images and text | Telling a story across multiple sections | Alternating image and text areas with action buttons |
Images text divider | Breaking up sections while keeping a visual rhythm | Image, text, divider, and button |
Image and text | Simple feature callouts | Image paired with supporting text |
4 images collage | Showcasing events, teams, or campaigns | Four images with supporting text areas |
5 images collage | More image-heavy storytelling | Five images in varied sizes for visual impact |
Numbered image list | Step-based updates, priorities, or ranked highlights | Title, image, divider, heading, and linked text |
These layouts are intended to make newsletter creation easier while still allowing editors to update images, text, and other section content to match their message.
When the additional layouts feature is enabled, newsletter managers can open the layout picker and insert any of the new blocks into a draft newsletter. Each layout appears with its predefined structure and placeholder content, which can then be edited.
Open a draft newsletter in the editor.
Launch the layout block picker.
Select one of the new stock layouts.
Insert it into the canvas.
Replace placeholder images and text with your content.
Preview the newsletter before sending.
The new layouts were validated for three key stages of use:
Insertion into the editor canvas
Rendering in preview mode
Display in sent newsletters for end users
Use the Spotlight layout for your most important update at the top of the newsletter.
Use alternating image-and-text sections to guide readers through multiple stories.
Use collages when visuals are central to the message, such as events or team highlights.
Use numbered lists for priorities, action items, or campaign summaries.
Mix layouts intentionally so newsletters feel varied without becoming cluttered.
A good pattern is to lead with one strong feature section, follow with one or two supporting mixed-media blocks, and close with a concise action-oriented section.
A follow-up issue was identified where layout shifting may occur while editing text blocks in the newsletter editor. This is an editor authoring experience issue and does not affect how sent newsletters render for recipients. Preview and sent rendering were both explicitly validated.
If you notice movement or shifting while editing text in the newsletter editor, save your draft and preview the final output before sending.
