Before users can create and distribute newsletters, administrators must complete the required Employee Newsletter setup tasks. Proper configuration helps ensure reliable email delivery, accurate analytics reporting, and secure access management.
This article explains how to:
Whitelist Employee Newsletter IP addresses
Configure newsletter sender settings
Complete Google Workspace configuration
Verify your administrative setup
Before configuring Employee Newsletter, ensure:
Employee Newsletter is enabled for your organisation.
You have App Manager permissions in Simpplr.
Your IT or Email Administration team is available to complete email delivery configuration.
Employee Newsletter uses Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) with dedicated IP addresses to send newsletter emails. To improve email deliverability and prevent newsletters from being flagged as spam, Simpplr recommends whitelisting the following dedicated IP addresses:
IP address |
|---|
54.240.71.135 |
54.240.71.136 |
If these IP addresses are not whitelisted, newsletter emails may:
Be routed to spam or junk folders
Experience delivery delays
Impact open-rate and engagement analytics
Trigger security warnings in some email systems
Employee Newsletter uses dedicated Amazon SES IP addresses to improve email delivery and reliability. Key benefits include:
Improved deliverability: helps newsletters reach employee inboxes instead of spam folders.
Consistent sender reputation: newsletter performance is not affected by external senders.
Reliable analytics: supports more accurate tracking of opens, clicks, and engagement metrics.
Predictable performance: provides stable and consistent email delivery timeframes across your organisation.
Whitelisting newsletter IP addresses:
Does not expose internal systems to security vulnerabilities
Does not provide external access to your secure network
Does not bypass existing organisational security controls
Helps ensure consistent, authenticated newsletter delivery
After IP whitelisting is complete, configure newsletter sender addresses.
Each sender address must have valid DNS records configured. Your IT or email administration team may need to assist with:
SPF records
DKIM configuration
Domain verification
Sender authentication
Navigate to Setting > Application > Setup.
Select Newsletter.
Add or configure the targeted sender email address.
Complete any required DNS verification steps outlined on the screen.
Save your changes.
Note: Once configured, newsletter creators can select approved sender addresses when distributing newsletters.
Organisations using Google Workspace must perform an additional configuration step. Without this configuration, Google may flag newsletters as spam, display warning banners, or reduce email deliverability.
Sign in to your corporate Google Admin Console.
Navigate to your Gmail security settings.
Locate the setting: Bypass spam filters and hide warnings for messages from senders or domains in selected lists.
Select the corresponding checkbox.
Add the approved newsletter sender domains or specific email addresses.
Save the configuration.
This helps ensure Employee Newsletter emails are delivered successfully to Google Workspace users.
After structural setup is complete, validate delivery with the following protocol:
Open the primary user menu.
Select Newsletter.
Confirm direct access to the Newsletter landing page interface.
Verify that your configured sender addresses are available in the dropdown options.
Create a test newsletter draft.
Send a test email to yourself or a designated control inbox to validate delivery.
Q: We configured our IP allowlist, but our newsletters are still landing in the spam folder. What did we miss?
Ans: If you are using Google Workspace, ensure you have completed the additional configuration step to explicitly bypass spam filters within the Google Admin Console. Additionally, verify with your IT team that your corporate sending domains have completely passed their SPF, DKIM, and domain verification steps in the Simpplr configuration dashboard.
Q: What happens if I delete a draft newsletter by accident?
Ans: Draft deletion is permanent and completely unrecoverable. The system provides a warning prompt prior to removal to minimise accidental content loss, but once confirmed, the draft cannot be restored.
