Before sending your Employee Newsletter to all recipients, Simpplr gives you a full preview experience and a dedicated test send option to make sure everything looks and works exactly as intended.
While building your newsletter in the drag-and-drop editor, you can preview how it will look before sending. The preview mode shows both a desktop and mobile view, so you can check layout and formatting across devices.
The final step before sending is the Confirm & send screen. Here you'll find the See how this looks in your inbox option, which lets you send a test version to yourself or any number of email addresses.
How to send a test:
On the Confirm & send screen, click See how this looks in your inbox.
Enter one or more email addresses, separated by commas, with no spaces after the commas.
Correct: john@company.com,sarah@company.com
Incorrect: john@company.com, sarah@company.com
Click Send test.
Enhanced test experience:
The test option is now more prominently visible in the workflow.
You can select recipients directly from your user list instead of typing email addresses manually.
Previously used email combinations appear as auto-suggestions for faster setup.
A test send delivers the newsletter exactly as recipients will receive it, so you can verify links, images, and formatting in a real inbox.
Test sends do not affect your newsletter analytics, opens and clicks from test recipients are not counted.
Once you're satisfied with the preview and test, you have two options on the Confirm & send screen:
Send now – sends the newsletter immediately to all recipients.
Schedule for later – choose a future date and time.
Save as draft – select Not yet to save and return later for review or collaboration.
Note: newsletters cannot be recalled or edited once sent. Always test before sending.
Q: What's the difference between previewing and sending a test?
Ans: The preview mode shows you a desktop and mobile view directly inside the editor, while a test send delivers the actual newsletter to a real inbox, so you can verify links, images, and formatting exactly as recipients will see them.
Q: Do test sends affect my newsletter's open and click analytics?
Ans: No. Test sends are excluded from your analytics — opens and clicks from test recipients are not counted.
Q: How should I format multiple email addresses when sending a test?
Ans: Separate addresses with commas and no spaces, for example john@company.com,sarah@company.com. Adding a space after the comma, like john@company.com, sarah@company.com, is incorrect formatting.
Q: Can I select test recipients without typing their email addresses manually?
Ans: Yes. As of the 25.12 release, you can select recipients directly from your user list, and previously used email combinations appear as auto-suggestions.
Q: Can I recall or edit a newsletter after it's been sent?
Ans: No. Once a newsletter is sent, it cannot be recalled or edited, which is why it's important to preview and test thoroughly beforehand.
Q: What happens if I choose "Save as draft" instead of sending?
Ans: Selecting Not yet on the Confirm & send screen saves your newsletter as a draft so you can return to it later for further review or collaboration, rather than sending or scheduling it immediately.
Q: If I schedule a newsletter for later, can I still preview or test it beforehand?
Ans: Yes. Previewing and test sending are available before you choose to send now or schedule for later, so you can verify everything regardless of which sending option you plan to use.
