Use drag and drop directly in the Planner calendar to quickly reschedule campaigns and activities without opening each item first. This makes it faster to manage your editorial calendar while still protecting campaign timelines and activity dependencies.

What you can do

You can resize campaigns from the calendar and drag activities to a new date directly in calendar view. Adjust a campaign's start or end date by dragging either edge of the campaign bar, or move an activity to a different date by dragging and dropping the activity card. Planner automatically alerts you when your change affects campaign boundaries or linked activities.

Resize a campaign

In calendar view, campaigns appear as bars that span a date range. Hover over a campaign and drag either side to change its duration. Drag the left edge to change the campaign start date, or drag the right edge to change the campaign end date.

If the change impacts activities already scheduled in that campaign, Planner checks for conflicts and alerts you before saving.

Move an activity

Drag an activity card and drop it on a new day to update its date. For many moves, Planner updates the activity directly. If the new date falls outside the campaign window, Planner shows an alert so you can review the change before it is applied.

Built-in safeguards

Planner is designed to help you make changes safely, not silently. Depending on what you move, you may see a warning or confirmation before the update is applied.

When you drag an activity beyond its campaign's end date, Planner alerts you that the activity falls outside the campaign range before applying the change. If you shorten or shift a campaign and scheduled activities are affected, Planner alerts you about those impacts. For completed or closed activities, some changes may be blocked entirely to prevent invalid updates.

Example 1: You drag an activity from Wednesday to Friday. If Friday is still within the campaign's date range, the change is applied normally.
Example 2: You move an activity later than the campaign end date. Planner warns you before the change is applied.
Example 3: You shorten a campaign and one of its activities would now sit outside the campaign window. Planner alerts you that activities are impacted.
