Comms AI: Delete a content draft from Activity

Updated 23 days ago

Overview

Content drafts in Activity are the working versions of generated content that teams use to co-author and review before publishing. Until now, only the user who created a draft could delete it, which often left stale drafts behind when the original author wasn't available.

With this Beta update, any Member, Admin, or Owner in the workspace can delete a content draft directly from Activity, as long as they have Activity access. Guests continue to have view-only access and cannot delete drafts. Deletion is permanent: the draft and its associated AI chat or history are removed for everyone.

What changed

Before: Only the user who created a draft could delete it. Other workspace users saw an error when attempting to remove the draft.

Now (Beta): Any Member, Admin, or Owner in the same workspace can delete a content draft from Activity.

Why this matters

Teams often co-author and review generated content. Allowing any collaborator with Activity access to delete a draft removes bottlenecks, reduces rework, and keeps the workspace tidy.

How to delete a content draft

  1. Go to Activity and locate the content draft you want to remove.

  2. Select Delete on the draft card or details view.

  3. Review the confirmation dialog and select Delete draft to confirm.

Note: Deleting a draft is permanent. The draft and its associated AI chat or history are removed for everyone. There’s no undo or recovery.

What others see when a draft is deleted

  • If a teammate has the draft open during deletion, they see a message indicating the draft was deleted or no longer exists.

  • The Activity view refreshes and the deleted draft is removed from lists and metrics.

Best practices

  • Coordinate before deletion. If multiple people are editing or reviewing, confirm no one is actively working on the draft.

  • Use clear titles while collaborating so teammates recognize the right draft to keep.

  • Prefer cleanup at milestones (for example, after publishing or archiving a final version) to avoid accidental data loss.

Troubleshooting

Use the table below to identify your issue and the action to take.

Issue

What to do

You don’t see the Delete option on a draft.

Check that you’re a Member, Admin, or Owner in the workspace and that you’re viewing the draft in Activity. Guests won’t see the delete action.

You see an error when trying to delete a draft.

Refresh the page to make sure the draft card actions are fully loaded. If the issue persists, check with your admin that the Communications or AI service is available, then try again.

A draft appears in Activity even after you deleted it.

This can happen if the page hadn’t refreshed. Reload Activity. If it still appears, verify you deleted the correct draft and that your network connection is stable.

Draft deletion is temporarily unavailable.

If the Communications or AI service is unavailable, draft deletion may be temporarily disabled. Try again later.
