Losing progress on a newsletter draft due to a system crash or an extended period of inactivity can be frustrating. To address this, Simpplr's Employee Newsletter automatically saves your work every 60 seconds while you're editing, so you can focus on creating great content without worrying about losing it.

1. How auto-save works

The background auto-save mechanism runs seamlessly behind the scenes using the following operational rules:

• Active tracking: the newsletter editor automatically saves your changes every 60 seconds while you are actively editing.

• Delta-only triggers: auto-save only triggers when changes have been made since the last save, if you've stopped editing, it will not run again unnecessarily.

• Live telemetry: the editor displays the time elapsed since the last auto-save, so you always know your work is up to date.

• Clean audit log: to keep the audit log clean, only the most recent save is captured, auto-saves are treated the same as manual saves.

2. What happens if auto-save fails?

If an auto-save attempt fails, Simpplr will automatically retry the save. If the retry also fails, you will see a warning prompt asking you to choose an action:

1. Manually save changes (Option 1). Attempt to manually push your current modifications to the database using the editor's primary Save interface.

2. Pause editing sessions (Option 2). Freeze further content additions and pause editing until the system background network issue is fully resolved.

This explicit warning system ensures you are always informed and never silently lose your work.

3. Managing and deleting a draft

Manual saves

While the automated engine runs every 60 seconds, you can still manually save your progress at any time using the dedicated Save button located within the editor panel.

Deleting a draft

When you attempt to delete a newsletter in a draft state, a confirmation prompt will appear before the action is completed, since draft deletion cannot be undone. Once confirmed, a final notification message will verify that the draft has been permanently removed from your organisation's workspace.

Q: Do I need to turn on auto-save or configure anything?

Ans: No. Auto-save is available to all newsletter creators and managers by default, with no setup required.
