If a post is created directly on Site A's feed and mentions Site B, then that post will display on both Site A and Site B's feeds. People can reply to that post in either feed and the reply will display on the post in both sites' feeds. The analytics for that post and all replies will only be counted in Site A's site engagement analytics. Site B's site analytics counts won't reflect this.
Governance widgets in site analytics help site owners, site managers, and app managers keep sites healthy, active, and well governed. The widgets and CSV exports sit directly in site analytics and give real-time visibility into site leadership health, content staleness, orphaned assets, and category hygiene. You no longer need manual audit spreadsheets or custom admin queries to track these.

Key benefits
Manage ownership proactively. Find content and files authored by former employees or deactivated users.
Check audience reach. See how many employees can discover and access the site, based on its visibility audiences and membership rules.
Keep content fresh. Monitor carousel items and overall content age so information doesn't go stale.
Keep categories in order. Track pages, events, and albums that aren't filed under a content category.

Shows the total number of unique users who can discover and access the site, based on the site's visibility rules. The widget shows the full audience flow, from site visibility count to members, followers, and pending requests.
For public sites, the count includes all users who match the target audience criteria, plus open organization access. For private and unlisted sites, the count includes members and the specific target audiences allowed to discover the site or request access.
Use this widget to make sure the site reaches its intended audience, without exposing it to too many or too few people.
Shows the number of active users assigned as site owners or site managers. Deactivated and deleted users aren't counted, so the number reflects true admin coverage.
The widget flags sites with no active manager or only one, so a site doesn't depend on a single person to manage it.
Shows the total number of published content items, including pages, news, knowledge articles, events, and albums, whose original authors are now inactive or deactivated. The count only includes currently published items in the current site. If no content has inactive authors, the count shows 0 and the CSV export isn't available.
Use this widget with bulk content author change to reassign these items to active team members.
The CSV export includes these fields.
Site ID and site name
Content ID and content title
Content type (page, knowledge, news, event, or album)
Published status
Content published date and first published date
Author name
Content URL
Shows the total number of native files and attachments in the site whose uploader or owner is inactive.
App managers and site managers can use bulk file author change, or the Extensibility Center APIs, to give these files valid owners.
Shows the publication timeline and validation age of site content.
Use this widget to find outdated knowledge articles or policy pages that need review, updates, or archiving.
Tracks all content, external links, and social campaigns currently on the site's home carousel.
Use this widget to remove expired banners, past events, and outdated announcements.
Shows the number of pages, events, and albums that aren't filed under a custom content category and remain in the default Uncategorized category.
Use this widget to organize content into category trees up to 3 levels deep, from Manage Site > Content Categories.
Open the site from the Sites menu or global search.
Select Manage Site (or the gear icon), then select Analytics in the left navigation.
Find the governance KPI tiles on the site dashboard.
To export detailed data, select the Download CSV icon on a supported widget, such as Content with inactive authors or Files with inactive owners. Simpplr prepares larger reports in the background and sends an in-app notification when the file is ready.
Fix the issues you find.
To reassign authors, go to Manage site > Content and select the items to reassign in bulk.
To organize categories, go to Manage site > Content categories and move uncategorized items into the category hierarchy.
Q: Why is the CSV download option missing or unavailable on some widgets?
Ans: When a widget's count is 0, such as when no content has inactive authors, Simpplr hides the CSV download because there are no records to act on.
Q: What happens to content analytics when I reassign an author?
Ans: All view counts, reader history, and engagement metrics stay the same. View history is tied to the content, not the author.
Q: Can site managers see governance widgets for other sites?
Ans: No. Site managers only see governance widgets for the sites they manage. App managers can see governance widgets for all sites across the organization.
