Digital signage allows you to display intranet content on screens across your office using connected display devices. Instead of relying only on users to visit intranet sites, key updates and announcements can be shown in shared spaces such as common areas, meeting rooms, and office screens. This ensures important information stays visible and easy to consume.
This feature supports two primary audiences:
Internal communication teams, who create and manage content.
Employees, who consume that content through on-site display screens.
Digital signage extends the reach of existing site content without requiring additional actions from employees.
The integration is powered by ScreenCloud. Admins sign in to the ScreenCloud portal and select which Simpplr site content appears on specific screens. Once set up, selected posts are automatically displayed on the assigned devices.
The purpose of digital signage is to improve internal communication by increasing visibility and consistency of information across locations. It reduces reliance on manual sharing methods such as emails or printed notices, while ensuring updates are delivered where employees already are.
As a result, organizations see better engagement with important updates, more efficient communication workflows, and a reliable way to keep employees informed at scale.
Make sure you have:
An active ScreenCloud admin account
Access to your Simpplr admin credentials
Your Simpplr Identity API details (API URL, Client ID, Client Secret)
The ScreenCloud Simpplr app allows you to select one or more Simpplr Sites and display their content on digital screens. This ensures that the right content is shown to the right audiences across different locations.
Once you select the Sites, the app pulls content directly from those Sites and displays it on connected screens.
From each selected Site, the app can display the following types of content:
Pages, including:
News pages
Knowledge pages
Events
Albums
Every static post is displayed with a featured image.
If a post does not include a featured image, or if the image is coming from a template, the Site’s image is displayed instead.
Posts that contain embedded public videos will play the video content in the background, with text displayed on top.
For Album posts, the app displays up to four images at a time.
The images are refreshed randomly each time, creating a dynamic and engaging viewing experience.
Once your Site content is ready, you can begin connecting the ScreenCloud studio to your Simpplr account.
To complete the connection:
Log in through the app.
Allow the required permissions so ScreenCloud can access your Simpplr content.
To enable the integration, you must first create a client application in Simpplr. This allows ScreenCloud to authenticate securely and communicate with your Simpplr environment.
To connect ScreenCloud with Simpplr, create and configure a client application in the Simpplr Admin console. This setup enables secure authentication using OAuth 2.0.
Follow the steps in Simpplr’s Creating the Client Application article. When completing the Add Client Application form, enter the following details:
Client Application Name:
ScreenCloud
Client Application ID:
Generate a random UUID
(You can generate any random UUID from a UUID generator.)

After completing all required fields, click Save to create the client application.
Once the application is saved, Simpplr automatically generates the following connection details:

This authorization allows ScreenCloud to retrieve and display Simpplr content.
After the connection is established, select one or more Simpplr sites whose content you want to display on screens.

To hide a post from appearing on screens:
Click the Showing button.
Change the status to Hidden.
You can update post visibility at any time.

Add it to a Channel, where it rotates on a schedule alongside other apps.
Include it in a Playlist, where it loops in a defined order with other media.
Cast the app directly to a screen, allowing it to take over the full display.
These options give you control over whether Simpplr content is shown as the primary focus on a screen or displayed alongside other updates and media.
Template images:
Images applied through templates are automatically replaced by the Site image. To ensure a specific image appears, upload or add the image directly to the post.
Album image limits:
Only the 10 most recent images from an album are eligible for display.
Up to four images are shown at a time, and a new randomized set is displayed each time the post appears on screen.
