Dashboards can be personalized in different ways, depending on what works best for your organization.
The feed can be included on a dashboard or as a separate tab.
Home dashboards
To assign Home dashboard layout permissions:
- As the app manager, navigate to Application settings > Application > Setup. Here, you can choose whether each End user can personalize their layout, or if the App/segment manager will maintain that power.
To set up a Home dashboard layout, click the icon on the bottom right-hand corner of the Home page.
You can then select whether to include the feed on the dashboard or not. Your available options will change depending on your choice.
You can also choose which content to add to your home carousel from here. From the icon in the bottom corner, choose Edit carousel
Note:
The Home feed displays all feed posts from sites, people and topics the user is following.
Segment personalization: Managing Home dashboards
App Managers now have greater flexibility when managing dashboards across different segments. Previously, the Home dashboard could only be configured per segment, requiring extra effort to maintain consistency. With this update, you can now apply the same Home dashboard across all segments, simplifying management and ensuring a consistent experience for all users.
Home dashboard options
Within Segment Personalization, you can choose how dashboards are managed:
-
Same for all segments – Apply one dashboard configuration to every segment, including layout, defaults, and displayed content.
-
Managed per segment – Configure unique dashboards for each segment if personalization is required.
When applying the same dashboard across all segments, you can use the Keep settings from field to copy an existing segment’s configuration (e.g., Retail) and apply it to all others.
Other personalization settings
In addition to dashboards, App managers can manage:
-
Branding – Customize each segment’s branding (colors, logos, and fonts), or choose a single configuration for all segments.
-
Apps & links – Decide whether to configure apps and links per segment or share the same set across all segments.
How to update segment personalization
-
Navigate to Manage Application > Segment Personalization.
-
Under Home dashboard, choose whether to set it as Same for all segments or Managed per segment.
-
If selecting Same for all segments, pick the segment to copy settings from using the Keep settings from dropdown.
-
Review the Branding and Apps & links sections to select whether these should be managed per segment or set consistently across all.
-
Click Update to save your changes.
Site dashboards
Similar to Home dashboards, Site dashboards can be configured at the application level. App managers can allow either site owners/managers or other app managers to maintain control over the site settings. To do so:
- Navigate to Application settings > Application > Setup > Home control or Site control.
- Here you can decide to allow site owners/managers governance over their sites. This is the recommended practice, as it allows for greater autonomy over how their site works. The other option is to give app managers control over site settings. Choosing App manager removes feed from home, sites and content.
To configure Site dashboard layouts, navigate to the site and click the icon in the bottom right-hand corner.
From here, the layout options are the same as the Home dashboard options. You can select whether to include the feed on the dashboard or not. Your available options will change depending on your choice. Then you can decide which content to include in the site carousel.
