25.12 Release Notes

GA (General Availability): 12/08/2025

Intranet

Manage site subscription screen

We have brought a centralized screen to display all the subscriptions across sites and allow site managers, site owners and other privileged users having manage site permission to view/manage subscription from one location. This can be found within Manage Sites > Subscription and the feature is available only if ABAC is enabled.

App managers, site managers, site owners, users having manage site permission via ACGs can use this feature.

Site subscription priority order

As part of Site’s ABAC , we have improved our site subscription feature to allow site admins to subscribe audiences by maintaining the priority order of the subscription type (member/follower) and mandatory or non-mandatory. The priority order is in the following order always

  • Member - Mandatory
  • Member - Non -mandatory
  • Follower - Mandatory
  • Follower - Non-mandatory

App managers, site managers, site owners, users having manage site permission via ACGs can use this feature.

New activity date filter in manage content

A new default filter called Activity date (newest first) has been added to the manage content screen. The filter sorts content using:

  • The creation date, and
  • The last edited date

The item that was created or updated most recently appears at the top of the list. Content status (Draft, Published, Archived, etc.) does not affect sorting. Activity date (newest first) is now the default sort order on the Manage Content screen. The new filter is applied automatically.

Save draft option for events, albums after being published/scheduled/unpublished

We’ve added a Save draft option for events and albums even after they’ve been published, scheduled, or unpublished. This gives creators more flexibility to update and refine content without immediately affecting the current version. Site managers, content managers, site owners can use this.

Enterprise & global search

Acronym management to boost search relevancy

enterprise search 25.12.png

App Managers can now manage organizational acronyms from Search settings to improve search accuracy. App Managers can:

  • Add acronyms one by one
  • Upload a CSV file to add multiple acronyms at once
  • View and download the existing acronym list
  • Enable automatic enrichment of acronyms based on content

Search can now recognize internal abbreviations and shorthand, helping users find the right content even when they don’t use full terms. To access this select Manage app > Search > Acronyms.

Notifications

Alerts – multiple audience selection

App Managers and Content Authors can now select multiple audiences when creating an alert.

  • Send a single alert to multiple audiences at once
  • No need to create separate alerts for each audience

This reduces duplicate work and simplifies alert creation for teams managing large or segmented audiences.

Note: This feature is available only in ABAC-enabled environments.

Teams integration - updated welcome message

The outdated welcome message in Microsoft Teams integration has been removed. Users will no longer see messages referencing “Simpplr” when connecting their profile or posting through the Teams app. The integration now provides a cleaner, clearer experience.

Integrations and extensibility

OAuth client credentials

We’ve added support for OAuth 2.0 client credentials as a new authentication option for app connections. This provides a secure, non-interactive way to authenticate service-to-service integrations.

Admins can now:

  • Use Client ID and Client secret to authenticate without requiring any user interaction.
  • Configure this option when the connection type is set to App-level (client credentials do not apply to user-level or app + user-level connections).
  • Establish integrations that run fully in the background without end-user consent flows.

This update simplifies integrations with systems that are designed for backend authorization and improves stability for enterprise app connections.

AI tile builder for Form & Hybrid tiles

We’ve expanded the AI Tile builder to support Form tiles and Hybrid tiles, making it easier to build interactive, API-driven tiles using natural language.

Admins can now:

  • Generate tile drafts based on the tile name, description, and selected API action.

  • Automatically get form fields, success/error messaging, and suggested prompts populated using AI.
  • Use AI-assisted suggestions to quickly configure update actions such as “Update ticket priority” or other form-driven workflows.
  • Adjust AI-generated fields manually if needed, the tile builder will allow editing and refinement before saving.
  • Receive a new helper disclaimer reminding users that suggestions are based on the tile’s name and description, ensuring clarity before generating a draft.

This update speeds up tile creation and reduces manual setup time, especially for complex form-based workflows.

Hide empty App tile

You can now choose whether a tile should be hidden when there is no data to display. This gives admins greater control over the user experience, especially for list-based and display tiles.

Admins can now:

  • Use a new Appearance Setting to choose between:
    • Show empty tile (default behavior – displays a “No results” message)
    • Hide empty tile (tile is hidden if no data is returned)
  • See an on-screen banner in Edit mode indicating that the tile will be visible only when data exists.
  • Apply the setting to:
    • Display tiles (including custom display tiles)
    • Hybrid tiles

This helps maintain cleaner dashboards by removing irrelevant or empty tiles for users.

Note:

  • Form tiles do not support this setting since they are not result-based.
  • On mobile, the “hide when empty” option still renders an empty white tile.

User source details now visible on manage users

We’ve added more visibility into how each user is provisioned, synced, or deprovisioned. Admins can now see:

  • Provisioning source (e.g., CSV, HRIS, SCIM)
  • Syncing / Reprovisioning / Deprovisioning sources
  • External source IDs & sync identifiers used by upstream systems

These fields are read-only and come directly from the source system. This update helps App Managers and IT Admins troubleshoot issues faster, understand user lifecycle events more clearly, and reduces back-and-forth with support. Available on the Manage users page for every user.

Platform

Manage user data exports

App managers and IT managers can now export user lists directly from your intranet, without needing to raise a support ticket. This self-service feature allows admins to generate and download user reports that include all relevant standard and custom fields, making it easier to access and analyze user data on demand.

Employee Newsletter

Content date display options

Admins can now control which date appears on Newsletter content cards. A new setting, Content date display, is available when you navigate to Manage application > Setup > Newsletter Admins can choose to display:

  • Edited date
  • Created date
  • No date

Newsletter cards now clearly indicate which date is being shown. By default, the Newsletter continues to display the last edited date.

Enhanced experience for sending test Newsletters

The experience of sending a test newsletter has been improved with a complete revamp of the workflow. The new experience now provides:

  • Clear and easy access to the option to send a test newsletter, improving findability of the test newsletter trigger
  • A faster and simpler way to set the recipient list for test newsletters
  • The ability to choose recipients directly from the system instead of manually entering email addresses
  • Auto-suggestions for email combinations that were used previously when sending test newsletters

These updates reduce the time and effort required to configure test sends and improve accuracy when selecting recipients. Newsletter Managers can access these enhancements.

Restrict Newsletter “from” address access

Admins and App Managers can now restrict which users are allowed to send newsletters from specific email addresses.

Instead of allowing full access to all sending addresses, admins can now control exactly which Newsletter Managers or senders can use each “From” address. The Sender Address setting while navigating to Manage application > Setup > Newsletter has been updated to assign specific users to each sending address.

How it works:

  • By default, All users are selected
  • If All is selected, any new Newsletter sender is automatically included
  • All eligible users (feature owners, App managers, Admins, etc.) appear in the selection list
  • If a user is not given permission for a specific sending address, that address will not appear for that user when sending a newsletter

Note: This feature is available only in ABAC-enabled environments.

Learn more about restricting Newsletter “from” address access.

Full excerpt/preview text for content

Newsletter creators can now choose to display the full summary text of a content page in the newsletter. Now, the full excerpt allows newsletter creators to include more detail about the page in the newsletter.

For newsletter creators, this provides better control over how much context is shared about a page. For end users, the additional detail helps them decide whether the content is relevant before opening it.

Polls

Polls in Home and Site tiles

Polls can now be displayed directly on Home and Site dashboards using dedicated Poll tiles, making them easier to find and access.

Users who have permission to configure Home or Site dashboards can add and manage Poll tiles to improve poll visibility and engagement. Poll creators and managers benefit from higher participation, and all users can view and vote in polls directly from their Home or Site dashboards.

Note: This feature is available only in ABAC-enabled environments.

Polls browser notification

Polls now support browser notifications, in addition to Email and Mobile. This enhancement makes poll participation more seamless by surfacing timely alerts directly in the browser. Both App Managers and users now have better control over browser-based poll notifications. App Managers and all users can use this feature.

Note: This feature is available only in ABAC-enabled environments.
