Change Information and Configure Social Links on Your Profile

Easily manage your profile by updating personal details such as your name, title, department, and contact information, and configure social links like LinkedIn or Twitter to help colleagues connect with you outside the intranet.

Change or update your profile information

Keep your profile up to date by editing personal details such as your name, job title, department, and contact information. Updated details will automatically appear across the intranet wherever your profile is displayed. Follow the following steps:

  1. Click on your user profile image in the upper right hand corner, then go to View profile.
  2. On your profile, you'll see an Edit icon (pencil) in each section. Click the icon to edit any given value. Note that App managers can choose what fields you can or cannot edit, and if your org is using a syncing source to populate your profile data, you won't be able to overwrite the values yourself in your profile.

Configure Social Links on Your Profile

Add or edit links to your professional or social accounts, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, or Facebook, so colleagues can connect with you outside the intranet. Availability and visibility of these links may depend on your organization’s admin settings.

Previously, all users could freely add and edit their social links. While this provided flexibility, it also created challenges for organizations that required consistency, compliance, or branding alignment.

With this enhancement, app managers can now:

  • Decide whether social links should be displayed at all.

  • Control whether employees can edit their own social links or if only app managers can manage them.

This ensures profile information stays accurate, compliant, and consistent across the intranet.

How It Works

  • Manage app settings to control the display and editability of social links. These individual settings allow flexibility in controlling which social link to display or hide.

  • Display and Edit functionality works as below
    • Display = OFF
      • User-editable is automatically set to OFF.

      • App managers can add social links, but standard users cannot.

      • Added links remain hidden on the profile.

      • If all fields have Display = OFF, the “Add social links” option will not appear on profiles.

    • Display = ON
      • User-editable can be toggled ON or OFF.

        • If User-editable = ON → Standard users can add or edit their own social links.

        • If User-editable = OFF → Only app managers can add links.

  • Added links are visible on profiles.

Provisioning and syncing of social links through any source is not supported yet. This enhancement is supported on both web and mobile app

Benefits of Configurable Social Links

The Configurable Social Links feature was introduced for greater control over profile fields. It helps organizations create a consistent and trusted profile experience while keeping employee needs in mind.

Improved Employee Experience

  • Employees see only the social link options that are relevant to them.

  • Reduces profile clutter and confusion while balancing personal expression with organizational consistency.

Increased Control and Reduced Risk

  • Prevents misuse of profile fields or display of irrelevant social links.

  • Ensures professional profiles reflect company standards and culture.

Operational Efficiency

  • HR and IT teams spend less time fixing inconsistencies or auditing profiles.

  • App managers can proactively control profile fields, reducing manual corrections.

By combining flexibility for employees with centralized controls for app managers, this feature delivers a better user experience, supports organizational culture, and improves efficiency at scale.
