Users accessing Simpplr through a mobile browser will now see a gentle prompt encouraging them to switch to the mobile app, only if their organization has mobile access enabled and has provided a native, public, or unlisted app URL. This enhancement helps users, especially those on the go or on the frontline, discover a faster and more optimized mobile experience.
Many users still open Simpplr in their mobile browser, often without realizing that their organization has a mobile app available. Using the browser can result in a slower experience, limited features, and an inconsistent interface.
To solve this, Simpplr introduces a helpful nudge that guides users to switch to the mobile app without interrupting their workflow. This ensures users get faster performance, better features, and a smoother experience every time they access Simpplr on the go.
Who will see this
The prompt appears when users access Simpplr from a mobile browser and are logged in. It is shown only if the organization has:
- Enabled mobile access
- Provided a valid app URL in admin settings
- Configured the app type as Native or Unlisted
Note:
Users will not see the nudge if mobile access is disabled, if the organization hasn’t configured an app URL, or if the app is distributed via MDM, ABM, or MAM since those app types do not rely on a shareable URL.
How
1. User opens a Simpplr link in a mobile browser.
2. System checks if the user is logged in.
If not logged in, the user is taken through the standard login process.
If logged in, the system proceeds to validate mobile app availability.
3. System verifies the following conditions:
Is mobile access enabled for the organization?
Has a valid app URL (native, public, or unlisted) been configured in admin settings?
Is the app type set as Native or Unlisted?
4. If all conditions are met, the user sees a pop-up message:
“<App Name> is better on the app. Open this in the <App Name> to get the better experience.”
5. User chooses an action:
Switch to the app: Triggers a deep link to open the app directly, or redirects to the app store if the app isn't installed.
Not now: Dismisses the pop-up and keeps the user in the browser.
6. If any required condition is not met, the nudge is not shown.
This feature addresses common challenges such as low mobile app adoption, users unknowingly using browsers instead of the app, and inconsistent experiences due to browser limitations. It helps improve user engagement and overall satisfaction by guiding users to the right platform.
Users are introduced to a better mobile experience with improved performance, access to a richer feature set, and a more consistent interface. Organizations also benefit from higher app adoption and better discoverability among mobile-first and frontline users.
