    • Roles and permissions across Simpplr have undergone a major enhancement. Now, instead of custom permissions being assigned to custom roles, app managers can assign users additional roles that contain varying permissions. This change is expected to greatly decrease confusion and misalignment around roles and permissions in the intranet. As always, there will remain two system roles, app managers and standard users (formerly labeled end users). All new users will be assigned by default as standard users.
    • Note that this change is gradual, and will not affect all customers at once. Contact your CSM for more information on when you can expect the role changes in your intranet.

    • We're introducing Bring Your Own Integrations (BYOI) to Simpplr. With BYOI, app managers can set up custom 3rd party integrations to tie into the intranet. 
    • This includes custom app tiles and API actions you can set up all within your Simpplr intranet.

    • We've introduced multi-factor authentication (MFA)! This feature enhances a user's account's security by adding an additional verification step during the login process, helping to protect your sensitive information from unauthorized access.

    • We've enhanced the Single sign on (SSO) setup experience to make it easier for admin users to connect their org's SSO. Existing customers who have already completed SSO setup for their intranet will not be affected by these updates.

    • All applicable images in the platform will now support square cropped thumbnails

    • App managers can now ‘feature’ content. Then when it’s searched, it’s indexed higher and will appear at the top of search results. Think of this as ‘pinning’ content.

    • The user menu/Manage menu has been updated in user interface only to provide a clearer, more logical experience when navigating the menus. As always, this menu may look slightly different to you depending on your role within the intranet.
    • Note that no functionality has changed here; only the UI.

    • We've introduced custom email address setup improvements!

    • Previously, customers who needed to customize the sender email address had to manually configure it and involve the Simpplr Support team. With this update, customers can now manage this setup directly in the Manage > Application > Setup > Email section. Much like the newsletter email setup, users can define their custom domain, retrieve the necessary DNS record information within the UI, and add a custom sender email address without needing Simpplr support.

      Once the required DNS settings are configured on the customer’s side, the verification process will happen automatically.

      Note:

      This change will apply only to new customers and those who have not yet set up a custom sender email address.

    • Search enhancements: We are thrilled to announce search enhancements, entailing app and link search, tile search and featured content. App or link search gives an easy navigation to a particular app user is searching. Suppose user is searching for the app ‘Greenhouse,’ an HR app, we show the link at top before filters and search results for an easy navigation. Tile search similarly autocompletes and highlights the relevant tile for an easy search and access. This enhancement also applies to featured content (mentioned above).

    • OIDC SSO is now supported via Google, Okta and Microsoft Entra ID.

    • For improved security, App managers are now the only users who can grant support access to the Simpplr Support team on behalf of all users.

    Bug fixes

    • Search not populating result properly
    • Unable to move pages to a site despite correct permissions
    • Not able to update segments with new values
    • Update mobile distribution QR code to include branded mobile app links
    • Unable to add celebrations tile to home screen due to error
    • Survey email is redirecting to old/previous domain
    • Videos giving something went wrong error for about half our users
    • Newsletter won't render recognition smart block
    • 'The' shows up twice in the newsletter footer because name of the intranet is 'the dish'
    • 'Mark as read' notification is not working
    • Daily sync failures - now two different emails
    • User provisioning error
    • Admin can't make first and last name user editable (greyed out), even though it's not being synced
    • Azure sync doesn't sync over custom field
    • Space not displaying between words in carousel and on pages in mobile app 
    • Images embedded in the content are not responsive unless you resize it and then change it back to "fix width"
    • Unread must read notification email is sent daily
    • 'Copy link to page' option on 'content share', generating broken link(s)
    • When creating content, link back to page does not work
    • The thumbnail respects the right-side crop but not the size of the crop
    • Files upload at certain hours have incorrect upload date
    • Unable to edit page
    • Element handle toolbar is overflowing in API response modal
    • While saving content draft, 'publish from' field backdated value is reverting to current date
